What is Rebirth Dilemma?

Rebirth Dilemma is a fanzine that comes from love and deep admiration for Neon Genesis Evangelion. The zine collects a broad range of works inspired by the anime.

What is a zine?

A zine (short for magazine) is a self-published, unofficial compendium of art and words, usually based around a specific subject or theme. Zines are usually published in small quantities and usually do not make a profit. Learn more about zines.

What formats will the zine be available in?

A roughly 100-page perfect bound print book and a PDF.

Why “Rebirth Dilemma”?

Evangelion is constantly reiterating, reconstructing, and rebirthing its characters into same-but-different scenarios. The name “Rebirth Dilemma” seeks to put this aspect of Evangelion front and center, especially now that the entire show is being reborn into an age where fandom is more prevalent and accessible than ever.

Who is editing the zine?

Yai and Meta. We met through another anime fandom and immediately bonded over a shared a love for many other pieces of media, including Evangelion. Learn more about us over at the about page.

What qualifies you to run a zine?

We have over 10 years of combined experience in marketing, PR, publishing, and social media. We are both detail-oriented and organized people who strive for excellence in everything we do.

Are you getting paid to do this?

Nope! We are running this zine without pay. All profits will go to the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
